PARAMOUNT CLASSIC FILM

George Stevens' epic film about the taming of the Texas landscape returns to the Paramount's big screen in this special presentation. Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor star as a cattle rancher and his Maryland bride whose stormy courtship and marriage unfolds across two generations. However, it is James Deans' presence in the film, as a troubled local cowboy who dreams of being an oil barron, that gives the film its timeless quality. Dean died in a famous car crash late into production. 1956, color, 201 minutes. Not Rated.
